How To install Rain Gutters

Step 1: Measure & Cut The Gutters
Measure the length of your roof and cut the gutters accordingly. Make sure that you cut it correctly to ensure a consistent flow, as well as the additional space at the end for the downspout.

Step 2: Attach Gutter Brackets
Depending on the type of gutter bracket you have on you, line up them across the edge of your roof and either snap or mount them on. Secure them firmly.

Step 3: Mount The Gutters
Carefully mount the gutters on the brackets. Ensure they are firmly in place and connect perfectly across (highlighting how important is was to measure and cut it perfectly).

Step 4: Seal The Gutters
Using a heavy bead of sealant, seal all the gutters together for a straight flow. Let it settle and tighten.

Step 5: Connect The Downspout
You can now attach the downspout to the edge of the gutters. Seal it at the top, and ensure it goes straight down to the ground. Aim it in the appropriate direction so the water is diverted to a safe area.

(Bonus Step): Installing A Gutter Guard

If you are interested in adding protection, you should add a guard to your gutters. A guard is a tough mesh that stops debris overflowing from the gutters. This is how to install gutter guards:

Lay it over the gutters and cutting it off at the ends
